Ingredients

	* 2 medium or 1 large onion
(I have used red, sweet, white, and vidalia onions; all work well)
	* 2 celery hearts
(I really like the way the celery comes out, and it provides a nice way to add bulk, so I use a lot. More or less can be used as desired.)

Claudius Roman is a san-serif Roman font. I created it primarily for the purpose of teaching myself METAFONT, and it later occurred to me that it would make a good basis for others learning to use METAFONT by providing them with a very simple and well-commented implementation of a typeface. I felt that as a Roman font it deserved a Roman name, and when considering the options I came across Claudius, from the Roman family name which was derived from Latin »claudus« meaning »lame« or »crippled«.
env-tool is Perl program that I initially developed with Joe Wells while working for the Church Project at Boston University. The original motivation was that it was often convienient to put any number of resources under version control: Programs, LaTeX macro pacakages, fonts, etc. However, for a user to be able to take advantage of these resources after checking them out of the repository they would need to configure their shells scripts to adjust their environment variables appropriately.
Below is a fairly detailed document covering my genealogy compiled by my Great Aunt. After running the original documents through OCR, I cleaned up the formatting and fixed several typographical errors. It badly needs further reorganizing, as the original document was at times more lists of notes. So you'll notice some information just dumped in a few random places. Most of the information appears to be correct, and a lot of it is, but don't assume it to be so. I had to fix my birthdate. If y…

EPFL has a great website for visitors.

Some books to look into: Living and Working in Switzerland, Xenophobe's Guide to the Swiss, Culture Smart! Switzerland. The latter two books unfortunately focus much more on the Germanic part of Switzerland than the French part.

This is a Java framework for a maze game that I wrote while serving as a teaching assistant for CIS505: Software Systems. It is vaguely descended from code that Bolous Harb and I wrote as part of our final project for the same course, but it has been extensively rewritten. In particular it was just updated for Java 5. The intention is that the students would extend it with multiplayer network support. However, it could also serve as a starting point for an AI project or any number of other thing…

OCamlTeX is a combination of an OCaml script and LaTeX style file that, together, give the user the ability to define LaTeX macros in terms of OCaml code. Once defined, a OCaml macro becomes indistinguishable from any other LaTeX macro. OCamlTeX thereby combines LaTeX's typesetting power with OCaml's programmability.

This is a Vim plug-in I developed for easily entering Unicode text in UTF-8 format. Right now it creates abbreviations for a number of Unicode glyphs as LATEX commands. For example, typing \lambda will “expand” into λ. It also provides commands for converting back and forth between glyphs and their abbreviations. Future improvements might include some kind of integration with TEX/LATEX editing, support for SGML entity style abbreviations, and of course a more comprehensive symbol map.

The library is intended to take transform tree-structured data in an XML format and pretty-print it as ASCII, XHTML, or LaTeX trees. Included is a demo that pretty-prints XML documents themselves. The library also includes useful helper functions that are not part of standard XSLT, like an i…
